Matamata Community Dinners
Every Sunday night, we offer a free meal to our community. Most weeks this is avaliable as a drive-thru to support many families in our community who need a helping hand. From time to time we gather to enjoy a hot meal together around the table, and often put on a movie and snacks afterwards. For more info and to keep updated, follow Community Dinenrs of Facebook
Matamata School Lunches
Many of our local schools are not eligible to receive support through the Government school lunch programs. This means kids in need sometimes miss out on the support they need to thrive and learn. Matamata School Lunches, alongside the fabulous support of local businesses, proveds hundreds of lunches each week, to help our tamariki thrive.
Matamata Community Fridge
This fridge is situated by the front door at Matamata Baptist Church. It is a great way for our town to support one another. Some bring extra food and leave it, so that others can help themselves when they need a bit of extra food.
Matamata Light Party
Held each year on October 31st, The light party is a fun-filled carnival style party. Keeping kids off the streets on Halloween, we provide a safe, fun environment, full of light, laughs and lollies! Just one more way that we can love of our community.
